Featured on Nearlyweds Blog - Sioux City Wedding

This absolutely adorable Sioux City wedding got some extra love this week on the Nearlyweds Blog! Very happy that this incredible blog was able to share Cameron and Scott's wedding story and pictures. Loved being a part of this wedding and so happy to take a little walk down memory lane as I looked at their pictures again today.

50 Weddings Project UPDATE

If you're not familiar with the 50 weddings project it's a project I started to reach a goal of mine and I need your help! I am attempting to photograph a wedding in each of the 50 United States. It started because I have two loves, weddings and travel. I also love to meet new people and see how different weddings are from region to region. This upcoming summer I'm planning a road trip and headed to the Northeast. I will be there to photograph weddings in Pennsylvania and New York, but I still have several weekends available and I would love to add Connecticut, Massachusetts, Rhode Island, New Hampshire or Vermont to the list! I am available for a few select dates in late June and July. I'm offering a free package upgrade as well as all travel expenses for any wedding event that I can add to my list from one of those states.  So if you're reading this and that is you, then shoot me a message ASAP!!! Or if you happen to hear of anyone who is planning their wedding that might be a good fit to be one of my 50 weddings, send them my way!!

Wedding - Nebraska Wedding Photographer

Exciting news for fellow hotel connoisseurs. One of the nicest hotels in Nebraska, The Marina Inn, is re-branding and going to be taking on the Marriott name. I've stayed at some amazing Marriott properties around the world, including their big resorts in St. Kitts and also Curacao and watched the re-branding process when the Marriott came to Sanibel Harour Resort and also the recent upgrade to the now JW Marriott on Marco Island. I have only had nice experiences with the hotel chain for my personal trips so I imagine the Marina Inn's change will be nice as well. However, what is really exciting is what this means for weddings. The Marriott chain is known for giving incentives to couples for hosting their wedding at the Marriott. Just the Marriott rewards alone could mean that your wedding could earn you enough points for some free honeymoon nights in Puerto Rico... or Bali? With hotels all over the world the possibilities are endless.

I have photographed dozens of weddings at Marriott brand hotels in the past and Impressions Photography has 6 weddings scheduled at The Marina Inn for 2017. I'm really excited to see how the Marriott name change effects each couples personal experience. I am optimistic that this is going to be a great thing for South Sioux City and a wonderful thing for Nebraska and Iowa brides and grooms.

Fort Myers Wedding - Florida Photographer

There is something special about the historic buildings in downtown Ft Myers. You can easily imagine a time when Henry Ford and Thomas Edison actually could be seen out and about in the city. The character of the buildings and the charm of the old palm trees really make the quaint historic district different than many other Florida cities. That character lends itself well to weddings too. Many couples who choose downtown Fort Myers are looking for a timeless wedding feel.

The Burroughs Home is one of the most popular of these historic downtown wedding venues. Jacqui and Telly planned their wedding for the Burroughs Home in December. Their ceremony was set among those old palm trees and overlooked the river. Their guests enjoyed a private reception under the pavilion that sits next to the water as well. We took full advantage of this historic wedding venue for photographs. The many gardens as well as the Burroughs Home itself made for some very unique and perfectly Fort Myers backdrops. Anyone looking for a year-round spot that is both historic and tropical, downtown Fort Myers is worth checking out. Both local couples and destination weddings (and wedding photographers!) enjoy the private waterfront venue.
