The Great Photo Voyage

I Just Returned from One of My Other Passions: Teaching Photography and Photo Organizing. 

Most people know me as a family photographer here on Sanibel Island and throughout Southwest Florida.

But what many of my clients don’t realize is that when I’m not photographing beach sessions for visiting families, I also spend time teaching photo and photo organinzg to groups. My latest workshop was on The Great Photo Voyage.

This workshop was aboard a cruise ship, where I worked alongside my co-host, Mollie from Pixologie, to help guests who wanted to learn how to better capture meaningful everyday moments and keep every picture from their phone to old print photos organized. 

We did very fun photo walks. Some brought cameras, some used their phones. All of them cared deeply about remembering their lives through photographs.

On our photo walks we talked about how special it is to capture a good candid moment. We discussed how I photograph families and weddings in the most genuine ways. I shared tips to get the most authentic versions of people. The same things I bring with me into every family photo session I photograph here on Sanibel, Captiva, Fort Myers Beach, and Naples.

Because whether I’m teaching someone how to capture their own memories on vacation, or I’m the one behind the camera creating those memories for you, the goal is always the same: To preserve the moments that matter most.
