Being a part of this super wedding was just everything perfect. Emilee and Wade are college sweethearts who met at the University of South Dakota. The currently live in Omaha, but when it came time to plan their dream wedding, they returned to Emilee's hometown of Sioux City, Iowa and brought friends and family to gather at the Marina Inn in South Sioux City for the most amazing wedding day and celebration. The day started at Rick & Co. Salon on Pierce Street in Sioux City where Emilee and the girls got ready for the day. This was my first time at the salon and I was really impressed with how nice the space was. Not only did they do a wonderful job with the ladies hair and makeup, they also had a large amount of room for the ladies to relax while they were getting ready.
After a few fun getting ready robe pictures we left the salon and headed to The Marina Inn (now the Delta Hotel by Marriott South Sioux City) where Emilee had her mom's assistance getting into her amazing WToo wedding gown. The dress was simply stunning and so very Emilee. She had said she always wanted a dress she could twirl in and this one did not disappoint! And flowers!!! I'm a huge fan of Diane at FlowerCart Creations in Sioux City. She is a super talent and all of her brides rave about working with her. She comes right to the wedding venue and sets up everything up. I've had several brides and grooms now tell me that working with her is easy and that she just makes everything happen without a worry.
The couple did a first look and we were able to capture several of their wedding pictures before the ceremony started. A June wedding in Iowa means it's a little hot out, so we took advantage of the air conditioning and did some of their pictures right in the hotel room.
And a ton of pictures on the beautiful grounds of the the Marina Inn!
We can't be at the Marina Inn for a wedding and not have a few photographs with the bridge that connects Sioux City, Iowa to South Sioux City, Nebraska in the background!
So many layers of perfection in Emilee's WToo wedding gown!!!
Were these flower girls adorable or what?! Emilee's nieces were so sweet and really enjoyed being a part of the wedding photographs too!
I simply love that I get to capture love (and this is my job!!!)... I'm pretty lucky and seriously blessed to have this awesome career! Thanks to Emilee and Wade for turning another Saturday afternoon into an amazing day.
