Take me back to Chicago! I miss the days where I was traveling once a month and frequently getting back to this very special city. Chicago somehow always seemed to pull me back. I have a chain of fabulous Chicago clients who have both planned destination weddings for Southwest Florida as well as had me traveling up to the Windy City to photograph events there. Next to my Sanibel Island regulars my Chicago clients seem to be my next biggest group always referring me to other weddings and portraits. I definitely have a great group of clients who I now friends from the Chicagoland area.
With Chicago on my mind, it was definitely a treat to be looking at this very special wedding again today. This is Morgan and Matt who were married at the Adler Planetarium in Chicago. This wasn't the first that I had the two behind my camera lens. I actually photographed Morgan's sister's destination wedding and initially met the couple there. When it came time for Morgan and Matt to tie the knot they called me up and I was more than thrilled to be a part of the day they had planned. At the time I was between Florida and Chicago frequently for other shoots, so it was no problem to meet up with them for engagement pictures a few months before the wedding. We also went together and checked out the Adler Planetarium and I got some great photo inspiration before the day. And then it was finally time for their most amazing fall wedding day. I have had many opportunities to photograph with the beautiful Chicago skyline as the backdrop but this was the first that I had an opportunity to photograph at the a wedding at the Adler Planetarium. The planetarium has the best views of the city lights and made for the most incredible photo background. Add in the afternoon when we spent roaming around the city getting amazing pictures throughout downtown Chicago and it really was the most perfect wedding day. It really was a special treat to be there and to capture so many candid and creative moments of this adorable couple. For me getting back to normal is definitely going to be returning to Chicago and photographing around this spectacular city again.
