Chicago Bound!

Very excited to be headed to Chicago this weekend and whenever I get to the Windy City (which seems to be more and more often!) I definitely try to schedule to meet up with my wonderful clients and also make time to talk with any recently engaged couples who are planning a Florida wedding and looking to talk about photography options. It's always a nice opportunity to get to meet in person, even when the plans are for a destination wedding. This past weekend I photographed an adorably wonderful Chicago couple as they tied the knot on Sanibel Island. So many of my clients have planned their destination wedding from Chicago, so it is nice to have that connection (and I always appreciate getting the inside scoop on the best restaurants from a local!!).

This weekend I am looking forward to photographing an engagement shoot in Chicago, however I definitely still have time available to connect!! Shoot me an email impressphoto@cs.com or give me a ring 239.437.1838 if you would like to chat!!!

And just because every post needs a pictures... Brittney and her girls... Who came all the way from Chicago to The Dunes on Sanibel Island for a fun destination wedding weekend!

When Dominique and Ronald selected Impressions Photography to capture their intimate island wedding at South Seas Resort I was thrilled. The couple planned their destination wedding for my favorite Southwest Florida get-away, Captiva Island. Their ceremony was on Sunset Beach, a popular Captiva wedding location. The site is very quiet and secluded. Guests were escorted to the location by trolley. As guests arrived they were greeted to the tropical music of Dan Confrey who is one of the talented musicians with Danny Morgan and company (a Sanibel Island legend!). The couple had selected a colorful floral arch to be the focal point of their beach wedding ceremony. The only passers by were off in the distance by boat, it was definitely a peaceful spot and a romantic setting for their wedding ceremony! After the couple exchanged vows under the floral arch, Dr. Dan Lamey pronounced the couple husband and wife. The group gathered for a quick photograph on the adjacent golf course before they were escorted back to the King's Crown by the South Seas Trolley. While guests enjoyed cocktails, the couple took time to enjoy the sunset on the beach where they were married and we captured a few more wedding photographs before dusk. When the couple arrived back to the King's Crown they were introduced into a beautifully decorated ballroom. Lanterns and colorful flowers were on every table, along with Honolulu Cookie Company cookies as a fun (and tropical) favor for each guest. South Seas Resort is a gem on Captiva Island and one of the most romantic destination wedding locations you can find. If you are looking for that perfect location to celebrate your wedding (or a romantic honeymoon!) it is definitely among the world's best destination wedding venues!

Captiva Island Wedding - Florida Photographer

South Seas Resort wedding reception on Captiva Island

When I first started Impressions Photography in Florida I found that a majority of my clients were destination weddings heading for Sanibel and Captiva Island. Within my first year living in Florida I had photographed dozens of wedding ceremonies on the islands. Since then I've found myself on vendor lists like South Seas Resort and Tween Waters, but I've also met new brides and grooms as they got my information from other couples that got married on the islands. Even though most of my clients only visit the islands and go home to New York or Ohio or all over the world really! So many have then given my name to other couples in their area who are also planning a destination wedding. And now with over 10 years of wedding experience on the islands I'm so appreciative to have photographed so many Sanibel and Captiva island weddings and to also still have couples contact me as they get engaged and are looking for a photographer on the islands!

And of course a little something pretty too... Images from Captiva Island. This couple had their wedding ceremony at Chapel By The Sea on Captiva. This adorable little church is perfect for intimate weddings and it is just a few steps from the beach. It is also very close to South Seas Resort where this couple went to have their wedding reception on Sunset Beach. One of my favorite reception sites on the island, it is covered by palm trees and looks out on to the Gulf Of Mexico. And as it's name says, has a perfect view of the sunset!
