Laura and Brian tied the knot at Casa Ybel Resort on Sanibel Island in October. I was thrilled that they decided to have Impressions Photography photograph the big day, but also excited because they opt to have photography coverage of their entire weekend. Since this was a destination wedding, they had activities planned for their guests each night. We joined them at their welcome dinner on Friday night (pictured). We were able to get so many more fun and relaxed images this evening. I even grabbed the couple at sunset for 5 minutes of beach pictures (it's amazing what you can do with just a few minutes, a fun couple and a camera!!!). We had a blast getting to know Laura and Brian and their families better and also capturing their guests as they celebrated the beginning of a fun weekend!

Something Personal - Fort Myers Photographer
Impressions Photography had a very special wedding earlier this month when our very own Travis got married. Travis started working with us almost 10 years ago when he was still in high school. Since then he has been the go to guy helping at weddings and events as well as being an all around awesome friend. He and his adorable new wife, Briana, got married in downtown Fort Myers at a very quaint church ceremony followed by a night of dancing a fun at the Sidney and Burn Davis Art Center. I had the pleasure of photographing the couple and their families before the ceremony, then our other long time Impressions wedding guru Emily took over as photographer and I happily joined the celebration as a guest.
Pictured above, Emily, Travis and I, aka "The Impressions Team" just before the wedding. And also a fun family photograph Emily captured of my husband and I giving our daughter, Bean, a big squeeze.

Jackie & Jordan - North Carolina Wedding Photographer
I just added this lovely wedding to the Impressions Photography website and I am soooo very excited to share! This wedding was special for so many reasons. First, North Carolina, check! I am working my way down the list of states as I attempt to photograph a wedding in each of the 50 United States, aka The 50 Weddings Project. So of course that was great for me personally to check off another state and to be that much closer to my goal. But, even more important is the fact that I have known Jackie and Jordan for years. Many years actually! Jackie was my next door neighbor at my home in Fort Myers, she was then my rock star wedding assistant when she was in high school and she has always been like a little sister to me. Ten years ago, Jackie met Jordan while they were both in high school and you could see how well they clicked then. But it wasn't until 10 years later, many colleges, cities, moving to North Carolina, pet adopting and home buying that the couple finally tied the knot in perhaps the most romantic fall ceremony setting ever. The Farm at Brusharbor had just the perfect amount of fall color to make everything look magical for their special day. I was so very fortunate to be there for Jackie and Jordan to witness their wedding day and to also capture that romance that I have seen between the two of them for so many years!!! So a huge congratulations to this incredible bride and groom as they start their journey into married life!

Crave Wedding - Sioux City Photographer
Some exciting news for Sioux City, Bev's on the River is officially changed over to Crave. I definitely liked Bev's a lot, but as a bit of a sushi lover I couldn't be sad. Crave has a great menu, filled with tons of options and lots of yummy sushi too. My husband and I had the pleasure of being there for their opening night
and the staff in the restaurant was beyond my expectations (and coming
from Florida the service capitol of the world, I have high service
expectations!). I have photographed several events at Bev's and I'm looking forward to being there to photograph some of their first weddings under the new and owners. From what I've been hearing the staff has been super with helping my clients with their wedding plans and I hear the banquet menu is great too. So if you are looking for a nice night out in Sioux City or if you are planning your wedding, Crave is definitely worth looking into!
I've included a few images from Jarod and Sarah's Sioux City wedding. They went to Bev's on the River for their reception.

Can we all agree the Bubble Room is the most iconic restaurant in Southwest Florida?! I literally stop there more often than I should admit to get a dessert to take home. As for wedding groups who are (like me) a fan of everything Sanibel and Captiva a wedding day stop at the Bubble Room just seems like a good idea too!
If you are new to the islands, definitely put this restaurant adventure at the top of your must see list! And you can't skip dessert!
Casa Ybel on Sanibel Island has the most Old Florida Charm on the islands. This lovely venue is the perfect spot for a beach wedding or an event on their sprawling lawns. Among the best wedding destinations in Florida, Casa Ybel on Sanibel Island will always be a special place for couples planning a Florida destination wedding.

Casa Ybel Wedding - Sanibel Island Photographer
I know I've posted a few photographs of this adorable couple, but today I got to see the final images and I was just too excited to relive this amazing day today, I just had to share a few more! I immediately added a collection of wedding highlights to the Impressions Photography website too www.impress-photo.com! Laura and Brian had the most amazing wedding day. The couple lives in New York, but came down to Sanibel Island for their destination wedding. They had both their welcome dinner and wedding reception in this romantic tent setting at Casa Ybel Resort, just steps from the beach. The late October weather was perfect, as was the quiet island setting! From the elegant old Florida charm of the palm trees and the the Thistle Lodge to the seashell covered beach, we took advantage of every corner of this stunning property for pictures and had a blast doing it! I loved working with Laura and Brian and I'm definitely enjoying reliving this special day as I look at their wedding photographs!
