Florida Tent Wedding

There is something so fun about a wedding under a tent. And this backyard wedding took advantage of every aspect of a having a tent wedding. Chandeliers and twinkle lights made the tent romantic, but outside was also inviting. Sitting under the stars and listening to the band play was just as perfect. This wedding was held in Naples, Florida and beautifully organized but the super talented wedding planner, Kelly McWilliams. I would highly recommend her and her team if you are looking to have something extra special for your wedding day (with or without a tent!!).

Whiskey Tasting

I just love this idea! And so perfect for a location like the Salisbury House in Des Moines. The location is a gorgeous historic castle and whiskey is such a timeless favorite it's a perfect mix. The guests loved trying the various samples that were offered and were definitely entertained while making notes of their favorites to take with them. I was on hand to photograph the event as it took place just after the wedding ceremony, and appropriately during the cocktail hour! Everyone loved the event and the bride and groom definitely loved seeing all of the photographs of their guests enjoying themselves after!!! Definitely a great idea for anyone getting married at a historic wedding venue!

Sanibel Harbour Marriott Wedding - Fort Myers Photographer

Bride at Sanibel Harbour REsort

Wedding on the dock at sanibel harbour resort
There will always be a special place in my heart for Sanibel Harbour Resort and this amazing wedding was just everything I love about this location. A gorgeous waterfront ceremony followed by a stunning reception set in the ballroom.

When I first moved to Fort Myers, just out of college, it was a dream to live on the water. And that's what I did. My college BFF and I picked up and moved from not so sunny New York to beautiful SWFL. We got our first condo together right next door to Sanibel Harbour Resort. We had an amazing view of the water, but also nightly we could hear the sounds of a steal drum coming from the hotel restaurant. We would walk over for dinner, to take the Sanibel Harbour Princess for a spin and sometimes just to watch dolphins from their tiki bar. As I was just starting out in my photography career back then, I would use this beautiful resort as a backdrop for some of my early portfolio work. It wasn't long before I was being hired to photograph weddings at the resort.... and now (just a few!) years later, I still find myself back at this amazing location, overlooking Sanibel and Pine Island and reminiscing about all of the fun times we had when this amazing location was just out our back door.
