Sanibel Island Wedding - Florida Photographer

Bride and groom on the beach on sanibel

beach wedding ceremony on Sanibel Island
Destination Sanibel Island! And Jade and Aaron are the adorable couple! They made their way from Canada (along with 50 of their friends and family) to Sanibel Island to tie the knot! Their wedding took place on the beach at dusk with an outdoor reception to follow.

Jade is a fellow photographer, so this was especially great to be able to capture the images that she envisioned.

As for the location, Sanibel Island is such an incredible spot for a wedding. If your looking for a romantic spot to get away with your group, definitely check out Sanibel. The island has an old Florida charm that is perfect for an outdoorsy style wedding. Some of the most quiet and picturesque beaches in Florida are right here in SWFL. Just a quick drive from Ft Myers, this destination wedding spot is a must see if you are looking for the perfect wedding venue. Head to the Impressions Photography website for all of the latest weddings that we've captured on the islands. www.impress-photo.com

Casa Ybel Resort Wedding Venue

Thistle lodge at Casa Ybel
If you are thinking about Sanibel Island for your wedding, Casa Ybel Resort must be on the list of places to check out. It is simply stunning. And the first thing I always think of when I think of Casa Ybel is the old Florida palm trees. The location is timeless and those palm trees will definitely make you feel like you've stepped back in time 100 years. I have had the pleasure of enjoying this location both as a guest and also as a wedding photographer and I can tell you it is just perfection. So if planning a wedding to the sound of waves crashing on the beach and the site of palm trees swaying in the wind is what you have in mind, then hop over to www.casaybelresort.com and check it out!

Florida Tent Wedding

There is something so fun about a wedding under a tent. And this backyard wedding took advantage of every aspect of a having a tent wedding. Chandeliers and twinkle lights made the tent romantic, but outside was also inviting. Sitting under the stars and listening to the band play was just as perfect. This wedding was held in Naples, Florida and beautifully organized but the super talented wedding planner, Kelly McWilliams. I would highly recommend her and her team if you are looking to have something extra special for your wedding day (with or without a tent!!).

Whiskey Tasting

I just love this idea! And so perfect for a location like the Salisbury House in Des Moines. The location is a gorgeous historic castle and whiskey is such a timeless favorite it's a perfect mix. The guests loved trying the various samples that were offered and were definitely entertained while making notes of their favorites to take with them. I was on hand to photograph the event as it took place just after the wedding ceremony, and appropriately during the cocktail hour! Everyone loved the event and the bride and groom definitely loved seeing all of the photographs of their guests enjoying themselves after!!! Definitely a great idea for anyone getting married at a historic wedding venue!

Sanibel Harbour Marriott Wedding - Fort Myers Photographer

Bride at Sanibel Harbour REsort

Wedding on the dock at sanibel harbour resort
There will always be a special place in my heart for Sanibel Harbour Resort and this amazing wedding was just everything I love about this location. A gorgeous waterfront ceremony followed by a stunning reception set in the ballroom.

When I first moved to Fort Myers, just out of college, it was a dream to live on the water. And that's what I did. My college BFF and I picked up and moved from not so sunny New York to beautiful SWFL. We got our first condo together right next door to Sanibel Harbour Resort. We had an amazing view of the water, but also nightly we could hear the sounds of a steal drum coming from the hotel restaurant. We would walk over for dinner, to take the Sanibel Harbour Princess for a spin and sometimes just to watch dolphins from their tiki bar. As I was just starting out in my photography career back then, I would use this beautiful resort as a backdrop for some of my early portfolio work. It wasn't long before I was being hired to photograph weddings at the resort.... and now (just a few!) years later, I still find myself back at this amazing location, overlooking Sanibel and Pine Island and reminiscing about all of the fun times we had when this amazing location was just out our back door.

Sioux City Engagement Photography

I love working with my clients to come up with ideas for their engagement photography. Unlike the wedding day, the engagement pictures have so much more flexibility and the possibilities are endless. When Thoa and Federico first contacted me to take their pictures, we talked about what their interests were, what they envisioned for their photography and the ideas that they had. We came up with a game plan that took us to Bacon Creek Park in Sioux City. There we used several different areas to capture their love story. From their love of reading, picnicing and romantic walks, we were able to create a look for her pictures that was unique to them. Sioux City has so many areas to use for engagement pictures. From the rustic downtown to the many parks, there are tons of options that lend themselves perfectly to pictures. If you are newly engaged and looking for a photographer for your wedding day and engagement pictures check out our website. There are more of Thoa and Federico's images there as well as tons of other couples. www.impress-photo.com

My Wedding!!!

I'm so excited to have tied the knot myself this past weekend! After photographing several weddings in the Bahamas, I finally got married myself on Grand Bahama Island at the Grand Lucayan Resort. We had an aaaaaamazing dinner at The Flying Fish after the ceremony. Our guests raved about the Flying Fish. The location alone is to die for and then the food, words don't do it justice! Such an amazing night.

I'm already planning my next trip back to the Bahamas! I'm photographing another wedding in February back on Abaco. So, I will be getting my Bahamas fix again soon!

Edison Estate Wedding - Fort Myers Photographer

edison estate fort myers wedding
Congratulations to Ryan and Ashley. The couple was married in downtown Fort Myers at the Edison Estate. A beautiful ceremony was held under the old banyan trees overlooking the river. We took full advantage of the estate for pictures too. We were give access to some of the rooms in Ford and Edison's homes for pictures and also used the garden areas, the historic pool house and of course sunset on the riverfront with some amazing Fort Myers skyline images too. After the ceremony were went to Ryan's family home for a beautiful poolside reception.

Another Unique Wedding!

I got to photograph Carmen and David's wedding recently at a hidden gem in the Akron, Iowa Hole N' The Wall. I had the pleasure of photographing their wedding at this quaint location and I'm already excited to go back. The name does not give this place enough credit, it is anything but a hole in the wall if you ask me! It's adorable. The grounds are perfectly maintained, the lodge is modern and comfortable and decorated perfectly all while keeping a very rustic charm. And Teepees. Yes, teepees can also be reserved for your group. Glamping at its finest. Photographing there was a treat, there is an amazing lawn for a wedding ceremony, a beautiful rustic barn for photographs and fields that also lend themselves well to pictures. The location is perfect for couples coming from both Sioux City, Iowa and also Sioux Falls, South Dakota for their wedding. Definitely check this beautiful Midwest wedding venue out!!
