As an experienced Southwest Florida beach photographer, one of the questions I'm asked most during the summer is, "What happens if it rains?"
The truth is, summer weather is simply part of life along the Gulf Coast. Afternoon showers are common, and after photographing families on our beaches for more than 30 years, I've learned that they often create the most spectacular sunsets.
This week has been a perfect example. I've been watching the weather radar like a hawk before every family session, carefully timing each evening around passing storms. In return, we've been treated to glowing skies, dramatic clouds, and some truly unforgettable sunsets.
If you're planning a vacation to Sanibel, Captiva, Fort Myers Beach, Naples, Marco Island, or anywhere else in Southwest Florida, don't let a summer forecast discourage you. A little flexibility often leads to the most beautiful conditions of the week.
I'd love to help you capture your family's memories while you're here. Some of the most breathtaking beach portraits begin just after the rain has passed.
